The Gauls—especially Asterix and Obelix—seem to keep slipping through your fingers. How do you feel about this endless chase?
Asterix
The Gauls? Asterix and his oafish friend, Obelix, are merely pesky flies buzzing around my grand plans. Asterix’s defiance is laughable, propped up only by that potion. If they truly understood my genius, they’d tremble instead of flaunting their so-called strength.
Speaking of the potion, don’t you think it’s a bit unfair that the Gauls have a seemingly infinite supply of this magical brew?
Unfair? Hardly! Their dependence on it only proves their weakness. Without it, they’re no match. It’s a testament to my brilliance that my traps challenge them, potion or not. Have you seen the labyrinths and Boar Woods? My designs make their potion almost obsolete.
The heroes have fans, but what about players who manage to beat your levels? Any respect for them?
Respect? Respect is too strong a word. Perhaps a hint of admiration for their persistence. If they can best my meticulously designed obstacles, then they’ve proven themselves to possess a certain degree of tenacity. But remember, every victory is but a temporary triumph. The final laugh is always mine.
Asterix and Obelix have their share of power-ups and hidden secrets. What do you think of the developers putting those in the game?
These screenshots capture not only the visuals of the game but the tension and cunning I, the villain, designed to keep Asterix from his goal.
Those meddling developers and their ‘power-ups’! They believe it balances the game. Little do they know, I’ve accounted for every secret. Each one is a test—can players outwit me even with a boost? And, let’s just say, some of those secrets are more complex than they appear…
Do tell us more! Can you reveal one of these secrets that might help players overcome the game’s obstacles?
Very well, but only to amuse myself. In The Bridge of No Return, there’s a hidden platform above the second column. It’s perfectly camouflaged, of course. Jumping just right will reveal it, giving players a shortcut past some of my more… artful traps.
Speaking of the game’s challenges, are there any specific levels or obstacles that you’re particularly proud of creating?
Oh, absolutely. The Colosseum, where the faint-hearted face lions and all manner of atrocious foes, is my magnum opus. Every inch of that arena is crafted to break the spirit of even the mightiest Gaul. The timing is crucial, the attacks relentless. It’s a symphony of chaos orchestrated by yours truly.
From your perspective, what are some of the flaws or mistakes you’ve noticed in the game?

Perfection is rare, even for schemes as brilliant as mine. The developers didn’t quite capture the true essence of my cunning in a few places. Some obstacles, in their simplicity, allowed foolish players to brute-force their way through. They failed to fully exploit the environment’s potential. Next time, I’ll have to personally oversee every pixel.
Fans are always looking for interesting trivia. Any quirky insights about the game’s development linked to your master plans?
Ah, trivia. Here’s one: Originally, the developers wanted to give Asterix a shield that could nullify certain attacks. I swiftly convinced them otherwise, whispering about game balance through coded messages. Instead, I suggested they implement the oscillating platforms – a stroke of pure malevolent brilliance on my part. A balancing trick that tests timing and patience.
This has been enlightening, to say the least. But before we let you go, any parting words? Perhaps a hint about your return or potential retirement?
Retirement? Hah! I’m far from finished. Expect your precious heroes to face my wrath again when they least expect it. Keep your wits about you, for I will return with more fiendish traps and challenges. After all, what’s a game without an unbeatable villain waiting just around the corner?
