PlayerProX Hi, folks. The game in question today is Granny: Escape Together by CreepyToad. I must say, the title did pique my interest, especially with the added co-op element. The concept of surviving in a terrifying house alongside your friends is something new. However, I can’t ignore the mixed user reviews. CompletionistMaster, what say you?

CompletionistMaster Well, PlayerProX, as a person who appreciates a detailed gaming experience, Granny: Escape Together did have its exciting elements. The diversity in quests and puzzles kept me engaged through every corner of the house. The three escape routes kept things interesting, with each route also giving more insight into this creepy world. However, some of the user reviews mentioned glitches and an unresponsive discord for help which is a bit concerning.

SpeedyGamer99 That’s true, CompletionistMaster. The replay value might suffer if these issues persist. But the add-ons of co-op and multiple ways to escape do make me want to revisit it, hoping to beat my previous escape times.

NewGamer Yeah, but I think in its current state, it makes it hard for new players, especially those not familiar with horror survival games. Granted, there’s a Practice Mode, but it doesn’t prepare you enough for the real game. The difficulty spikes quite suddenly, and the unforgiving AI didn’t really help either.

PlayerProX Makes sense, NewGamer. Jumping to the story and narrative, there wasn’t much depth there, though. The ‘granny’ character was, admittedly, quite terrifying but beyond the need to escape her house, we have nothing. It feels like CreepyToad could have added more story elements to keep players more invested.

CompletionistMaster I agree, PlayerProX. Adding layers to Granny’s character might have enhanced the narrative further. However, the atmosphere, visuals, and audio did compensate to a great extent. The creepy house, Granny’s eerie presence, the creaking floorboards – it all added to a tension-filled atmosphere.

SpeedyGamer99 Absolutely. As a speedrunner, I loved the game’s visual clues – hidden locks, secret passage ways. The sound design was pretty immersive too. Every sound, every footstep mattered, and it was fun figuring out how to manipulate it to shave some seconds off my gameplay. However, co-op mode needs work. The limitation of only one other teammate is definitely a drawback.

NewGamer On a brighter note, the customisation aspects of the game are commendable. There’s a kind of thrill in personalising your strategies, dividing tasks, and working as a team. But it’s crucial for the developers to invest in rectifying the glitches and ensuring smooth gameplay for all.

PlayerProX Definitely. All in all, I’d say Granny: Escape Together is a decent horror game with great potential. Despite the critiques, it has a unique appeal to it that’s worth exploring both for speedrunners and completionists alike. It just needs finesse along with better communication from the developers. Players who enjoyed games like Outlast or Dead by Daylight might find this one refreshing.

CompletionistMaster Well said, PlayerProX. It’s definitely a game that requires patience, strategy, and collaboration. Just like horror escape games Phasmophobia or The Forest, it commands teamwork and keeps you at the edge of your seat. It’s a rollercoaster of thrill and terror.
