NewGamer Hey, everyone! We’re here to discuss Assetto Corsa EVO, developed by KUNOS Simulazioni, and published by 505 Games. My first impression, despite the early access status, is this game offers some amazing realism and attention to detail.

PlayerProX Absolutely, NewGamer. What I really like is the focus on mechanical, electronic, and aerodynamic performance. They’re really trying to level up the standard of driving simulations. However, having played a lot of competitive games, I have to say the AI needs a significant amount of work. Racing cannot get competitive if the AI does not adopt better racecraft.

CompletionistMaster I agree with PlayerProX, the AI definitely needs improving. The wide range of vehicles and tracks are impressive though. It adds a lot of depth and promotes player exploration. Not to mention the realistic weather conditions and track performance.

SpeedyGamer99 It’s a must-mention how they’ve worked hard on physics. The weight transfer, damping and rebound—it’s a dream for us speedrunners who like to optimize our performance to the minute details. And yes, being in early access, it shows great promise!

NewGamer About the gameplay mechanics, how do you guys feel it stands versus other games of the genre?

PlayerProX Assetto Corsa EVO is trying to set a new benchmark for hyper-realistic driving simulations. But it’d be fair to compare it with iRacing or Gran Turismo, both of which also focus on creating a realistic, immersive racing experience.

CompletionistMaster Absolutely. The level of detail in gameplay extends to even simulating asphalt performance under different dynamic weather conditions, which is praiseworthy.

NewGamer Moving on, the design and graphics seem to follow a realistic approach, veering away from the colorful pallete of games like Forza. What are your views?

CompletionistMaster Indeed, the developers have done an incredible job recreating vehicles and tracks. The details, down to the vehicles’ physical attributes and track weather conditions, shows a meticulous attention to realism. It’s a treat for completionists like myself.

SpeedyGamer99 Agreed! The graphics are visually appealing in a subtle, real-world way. The smooth rendering of the gameplay enhances the playing experience especially during speedruns.

PlayerProX Let’s talk sound design. Personally, the engine sounds, tire friction effects, and the crowd noise really put me in that driver’s seat, offering an immersive experience. Probably some of the best I’ve seen in racing games.

NewGamer It’s interesting how the game offers a single player mode with a practice option, quick races as well as a Driving Academy.

PlayerProX Yes, and the level of challenge differs across different game modes giving it a versatile appeal. However, there’s room for balancing especially concerning AI difficulty in different vehicles.

SpeedyGamer99 That varied challenge level certainly adds replay value to the game. It keeps you engaged in trying again to improve your times, and experiment with different cars on different tracks.

NewGamer In conclusion, Assetto Corsa EVO, heads in the right direction to redefine driving simulations. The depth in mechanics, attention to detail, and subtle realism elevate the gaming experience. Let’s remember, it’s still in early access and shows great promise. With improvements, this game could truly be a game-changer.

CompletionistMaster I agree, NewGamer, and as we wrap up I’d like to mention a few games that fans of Assetto Corsa EVO might enjoy. iRacing, for its hyper-realistic approach to racing, Project CARS 2 that offers a range of cars and tracks with great attention to detail, and rFactor 2, known for its realistic physics and detailed car setup options. All represent unique takes on the racing genre, each with their own distinctive features for players to explore.
